About this event
Neighborhood safety is a multi-faceted phenomenon and everyone has a role to play in it. Council Member Michael Rainville and North Loop neighbor Aileen Johnson both have experience with grass-roots neighborhood safety initiatives.
Council Member Michael Rainville will speak of his experiences in founding and leading a safety group in the St Anthony West Neighborhood in the 1990s. Aileen Johnson will share her story of founding and leading the current 14 - and still growing -neighborhood safety clubs across Minneapolis.
Learn why these types of initiatives are successful in reducing crime. Learn what benefits they bring to neighbors, businesses, and law enforcement. You will leave this discussion with a better idea of how each of us can make a difference and how together we stand for a safer community.
