Join us for an evening with poetBert Hirschhorn, one of our own MCC members, as he reads from his newly published book, Over the Edge. Recently returned from its launch in London, Bert is the author of six other books of poetry and a memoir. Bert was also an internationally prominent public health physician who co-invented and developed an oral rehydration therapy said to have saved the lives of over 60 million patients suffering from cholera and other infectious illnesses.
He will read a selection from Over the Edge and answer questions about his work and life. Bert is married to Cynthia Myntti, also an MCC member. After decades of work and life in London and the Middle East they returned to Minneapolis in 2019 and live at La Rive in the flat of beloved former MCC members, Arvonne and Don Fraser.
