About this event
Sexual violence is pervasive, yet fewer than 5% of rape cases are successfully prosecuted. This lack of justice leaves the overwhelming majority of survivors to ask: What other possibilities exist?
This conversation will explore how restorative justice can offer alternative pathways for responding to sexual harm through facilitated dialogue, circle processes, apology letters, and other practices centered on truth-telling, accountability, and repair.
Sarah Super, founder and director of Just People, will share the vision behind Just People and Minnesota’s recent legal protections for restorative practices, while inviting participants to consider what healing justice can look like in cases of sexual harm.
After the discussion, we will head to Boom Island Park to view the Memorial to Survivors. You can find out more about the memorial here: https://www.survivorsmemorial.org/.
This program will be held in the Riverview Room at Graco Park. Please enter through the emergency exit side door.
