About this event

We are honored to welcome Dr. Gary Stern, former President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, for a timely program on the economic policies of the Trump presidency.

The second Trump administration has challenged many long-standing economic norms by pursuing protectionist trade policies through tariffs, curtailing the independence of the Federal Reserve and other regulatory bodies, reshaping key regulatory regimes that influence the economy—including those related to the environment and pharmaceuticals—and making permanent the tax cuts enacted during the first Trump term.

Dr. Stern will provide an overview of these policies and examine their implications for the economy and the business community. His remarks will be responsive to the latest actions of the administration, ensuring an up-to-date perspective.

This program is part of our ongoing series on the economy, which began earlier this month with Chris Farrell and will continue with future talks on the Federal Reserve, trade policy, and cybercurrency.
