About this event
The 2016 killing of Philando Castile by a police officer in Falcon Heights was met by grief, deep conflict and a sense of urgency to address mutually broken trust between police and communities. Kathy Quick, associate professor in the Humphrey School of Public Affairs at the U of M, was a facilitator of the Falcon Heights Task Force on Inclusion and Policing, and will share some lessons learned about the potential and perils of community-based work to address bias and rebuild police-community relationships.
This is one in an ongoing MCC program series under the banner “Driven to Discover.” The series features University of Minnesota faculty and students sharing current research and programming at the University.
